Thursday, 26 November 2009
Two Digital Vision Film Master grading systems will form part of the renowned animation studio's new workflow process.

Pixar Animation Studios is to take delivery of two Film Master systems from Digital Vision to replace the current colour grading systems at its Emeryville, US headquarters. The deal forms part of the studio's plans to put in place a nonlinear, cutting-edge workflow.

Simon Cuff, President of Digital Vision, said that "the requirements of a truly nonlinear, multiple deliverable pipeline with a high priority on image quality are stringent. The Film Master is designed to perform well in these types of environments. The science that has gone into our colour processing tools and the flexibility of the software's architecture are a unique combination in the industry."

Film Master is designed to work with CG, VFX and animation content, based upon its open EXR and floating colour point architecture.
