LiveU has revealed its solutions were deployed by broadcasters from 62 countries during Paris 2024.
More than 1,000 LiveU portable units were deployed during the Games, with broadcasters utilising the company’s IP-video EcoSystem to deliver more than 70,000 hours of live coverage. In a 40 per cent increase over the Tokyo Games, 62TB of data transmission was handled throughout the competition, said the company.
LiveU’s IP 5G bonding technology provided live coverage from the Opening Ceremony to the Athlete’s Village, alongside multiple arenas and venues. The company’s LU800 multi-camera encoders enabled broadcasters to reduce their reliance on traditional equipment, with more than half of the LiveU units making use of the local 5G network infrastructure.
The LiveU Matrix cloud IP distribution platform provided around 800 live feeds to be taken globally, with additional solutions including LiveU Ingest speeding up production workflows and remote production tools such as Video Return enabling broadcasts between crews and control rooms.

On-site production included over 10 multilingual engineers and event managers at three locations across Paris, providing round-the-clock support for LiveU’s users, said the company.
