Amazon plans to introduce QR codes as part of NFL coverage

The game between New York Jets and Miami Dolphins will include exclusive deals, only available during the broadcast

As part of the first-ever Black Friday NFL game this week, Amazon is introducing QR codes to its coverage so that viewers can do their shopping while watching TV.

The game between New York Jets and Miami Dolphins will include exclusive deals, only available during the broadcast.

The Black Friday game will be available to anyone who wants to watch without the need of an Amazon Prime subscription.

The QR codes will “close the loop between advertising and commerce,” Mike Hopkins, senior vice president of Prime Video, told the Wall Street Journal.

Hans Schroeder, NFL executive vice president, Media Distribution, described the plan as an opportunity to innovate the NFL broadcast, reports Awful Announcing. “On Friday, it’ll be this commerce driven one you’ll see throughout each quarter and at halftime and throughout the game,” he added.
