Wheatstone has announced the launch of Wheatstream Duo.
The full-featured streaming appliance aims to bring professional audio streaming to a wider market, offering the same metadata and processing capabilities as the company’s Wheatstream solution for one or two channels. Wheatstream Duo accepts two input streams of analogue, AES3, AES67 or native AoIP, with each stream capable of four output streams.

The Linux appliance features an HTML 5 web browser interface and is compatible with standard CDN and streaming platforms. Adapting metadata from most playback automation systems, the solution enables a single workflow from automation to content delivery. Wheatstone’s unique audio processing tools specifically optimise the performance of streamed audio via the streaming encoder and across a wide range of internet links, said the company.
Wheatstream Duo can integrate with any analogue, digital or AoIP studio, including the company’s WheatNet IP and AES67-compatible systems, eliminating the need for a Windows-based PC.
Director of product development at Wheatstone, Kelly Parker, said, “We’ve kept all the reliability and capability of our high-capacity appliance in use by larger facilities but scaled it for affordability.”
