Streaming technology company Brightcove intends to make around 200 members of staff redundant following its recent acquisition by Italian tech company Bending Spoons.
According to Boston.com, Brightcove said the redundancies will impact 198 employees. In its annual report at the end of 2023, Brightcove said it had 300 employees in the United States, and over 600 worldwide.
Bending Spoons announced in November that it had entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the company for $233 million.
Italy-based Bending Spoons’ suite of digital technology products includes Evernote, Issuu, Meetup, Remini, StreamYard, Splice, and WeTransfer. Its products are currently used by more than 200 million people each month, said the company.
