Creative Europe, the EU’s creative support programme, has advised UK companies to continue applying for funding following the latest Brexit deadline extension.
Last year the UK government reassured Creative Europe that it would underwrite its funding in the event of a ‘no deal’.
If a deal is struck, UK organisations will be able to apply for Creative Europe funding until 31st December 2020.
The decision on whether the UK can participate in the next programme (2021–2027) will be taken as part of future EU negotiations.
The Creative Industries Federation (CIF) also issued guidelines to ministers for a Brexit deal that safeguards the future of the UK creative industry.
According to CIF, the deal must:
- Retain freedom of movement
- Ensure frictionless trade
- Safeguard EU programmes
- Guarantee IP preservations
