The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has announced the formation of Security4Media.
Research carried out by the EBU found as many as one third of media systems are vulnerable to cyber attack, with the threat level from bad actors continuing to grow. In order to address the challenge, Security4Media has been established as a non-profit association with the aim of supporting organisations to reach maturity in cybersecurity.
Security4Media will provide its members with a network to share information and intelligence, identifying vulnerabilities in systems and solutions, working to streamline the threat management process with vendors and speeding up remediation.
A set of labels has been created, which will be given to participating vendors and organisations that are actively working to improve cybersecurity.
Established on 4th September 2024, the associations first general assembly was held by founding members, EBU, ORF (Austria), ARD (Germany), Swedish Radio, SWISS TXT, RTS (Serbia) and NRK (Norway).
