SMPTE appoints Sally-Ann D’Amato as interim executive director

D'Amato joined SMPTE in 2001, rising to become director of events and governance liaison in 2016

Following the departure of David Grindle, SMPTE has announced Sally-Ann D’Amato is stepping into the role of the organisation’s interim executive director.

In an email to members, SMPTE said D’Amato has been involved in nearly every aspect of SMPTE operations and governance during her 23 years with the organisation.

D’Amato joined SMPTE in 2001, rising to become director of events and governance liaison in 2016. She now steps into the role of interim executive director and will be “instrumental in ensuring continuity and progress across SMPTE initiatives”.

“Throughout my tenure, I have had the pleasure of working closely with Sally-Ann,” said Renard T Jenkins, SMPTE president. “I have witnessed her leadership-in-action approach; it is both refreshing and effective. I look forward to supporting her as she continues to provide extraordinary service and contributions to the SMPTE community.”
