Sky Italia CEO Maximo Ibarra is to leave the broadcaster to lead an Italian tech firm.
He is due to leave the broadcaster at the end of July to join Engineering Ingegneria Informatica.
Stephen van Rooyen, executive vice president and CEO Sky UK and Europe, is expected to take the Sky Italia reins until a new managing director is appointed.
The broadcaster’s programming chief Nicola Maccanico is also leaving to join the country’s Istituto Luce-Cinecittà .
Ibarra took over as CEO at Sky Italia in October 2019, joining from Dutch telecoms company KPN.
The company currently planning to reduce its total workforce by 25 per cent under a four year re-organisation plan. The cuts are expected to bring savings of about €300 million ($356 million).
