Next week’s TVBEurope 2020 conference will offer a platform to discuss the implications of the UK’s decision to leave the EU.
TVBEurope has responded to the UK’s EU referendum result this morning and will dedicate portions of the conference’s keynote and afternoon business panel sessions to discussing the implications of the news.
Taking place at BAFTA next Tuesday 28 June, the event will provide an opportunity to meet, debate, and share opinions with colleagues in the industry about how the market will be affected.
James McKeown, content editor, NewBay, and TVBEurope editor-in-chief, commented: “The implications of Brexit for companies across all business disciplines have been keenly debated for some time, but with the common consensus assuming the UK public would ultimately vote to remain in the EU, it could be argued that much of the prophesying has been hypothetical.
“Now, there is a stark, tangible reality to ponder, and TVBEurope 2020 will open the discussion on just what the ramifications of Britain’s self-imposed annexing from the European Union will be for companies in the creative industries, and in particular, technology and media companies engaged with the broadcast sector.”
TVBEurope 2020 will open with a keynote panel session the will cover the UK’s departure from the EU, with speakers from YouView, Bloomberg, Channel 4 , as well as Tom Toumazis MBE.
Also sharing their thoughts on the development will be Martyn Whistler, EY; Russell Grute, Broadcast Innovation; Simon Frost, Ericsson; Neil Maycock, Media Software Solutions, S-A-M; and Michael Harrit, Sony PSE, all taking part in the conference’s afternoon business panel session.
