UK systems integrator ES Broadcast Hire has bought 100 Sony HDC-4300 4K system cameras, two HDC-4800 ultra-high frame rate cameras and two XVS-8000 4K switchers. It’s hoped the Sony technology will help future-proof ES Broadcast Hire’s offerings as the demand for 4K and HDR technology grows.
Richard Scott, Sony head of media solutions, said: “ES Broadcast is an established customer for Sony on the systems integration side and on the rental side, which is something they’ve been building up for a number of years.
They’re actively growing their footprint across Europe to become a major player in the rental business, and this investment is part of that growth plan.
“The company is already present in Formula One, in football and tennis, and they’re looking to compete on a broader stage. This purchase positions them to be able to serve bigger, high-profile sporting events.”
