How long have you been going to IBC?
This is my third year at IBC.
What’s your typical IBC routine: what are you there to see/learn, who are you there to meet?
I try to make it to as many of our SMPTE members’ stands as possible. I try to get to know our newest members and learn from them what we can do to support them. Additionally, I enjoy popping into the Conference sessions to hear some of our thought leaders address the pressing issues of the industry.
Why is IBC important to you in a professional capacity, and how does the show compare to others on the calendar?
IBC is an amazing intersection of the industry in one location. It allows you to connect with both large and small companies, established firms and start-ups. While there is a great book of business taking place, the atmosphere is very relaxed and congenial which makes it a great place to connect.

What are you most looking forward to at IBC 2024?
This year I’m intrigued by the accelerator projects and the AI space. The Accelerators have become exciting chances to see new technologies. I’ve seen several of the projects make their way into use in the industry in my short time coming to IBC. AI, of course, is a hot topic both in how to use it and how to use it ethically. Hearing folks speak on this will give people much to think about.
What’s your top tip for anyone attending IBC for the first time?
The RAI is big and IBC is taking up the whole of the footprint. Pace yourself and wear comfortable footwear.
