DMC Production has employed Grass Valley’s AMPP solution in its coverage of RallyX championship events.
DMC has redesigned its live broadcast workflow, leveraging AMPP’s live production and processing services to live stream events in the 2004 RallyX rallycross championship.
Requiring only two small vans per site, AMPP enabled DMC to reduce its need for large OB vans, helping to lower its carbon footprint and work towards sustainability goals.
AMPP was also able to solve connectivity challenges. The high speed connectivity needed to backhaul multiple camera signals can not be guaranteed at RallyX racing venues. The solution enabled a fully remote workflow controlled over a 100 Mb/s public internet connection from the track to DMC’s production centre, further reducing production costs, said Grass Valley.
Jens Envall, CTO of DMC Production Sweden, said: “AMPP is a game-changer that is dramatically transforming our live remote video production of RallyX and ultimately other media and entertainment events globally.
“DMC has many production facilities worldwide, including Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, and the Netherlands. AMPP’s scalability and agility is remarkable. We can easily scale up the number of cameras, add production sites and stream programme outputs to any of our remote production centres if needed. AMPP is saving us valuable time, reducing travel time and costs, and allowing us to use our resources, skilled operators and talent how and where it benefits us most,” he added.
