Gravity Media develops new remote technology solutions for Aussie cricket

The company has developed CELBO, a new live stream technology that allows remote production of events through cellular and cloud-based technologies to deliver individual camera and audio feed coverage

Gravity Media has developed a new remote broadcast production technology involving cellular and cloud-based solutions to deliver in excess of 350 hours of Australian cricket coverage over the 2022-2023 summer.

The company has developed CELBO, a new live stream technology that allows remote production of events through cellular and cloud-based technologies to deliver individual camera and audio feed coverage to Gravity Media Australia’s Production Centres in Sydney and Melbourne.

According to the company, the technology allows it to create, direct and deliver a complete broadcast production, including on-screen graphics and multiple camera replay capabilities.

The introduction of CELBO is designed to simplify logistics, reduce the production footprint at events, deliver greater flexibility in resources and enhance and streamline production and technology workflows, said Gravity Media.

Gravity Media Australia will be working on this weekend’s Sheffield Shield Final, providing high definition outside broadcast and production trucks and 12 cameras for the event

Dan Allan, content manager broadcast at Cricket Australia, said: “The newly-developed remote production solution was the perfect fit for a summer that saw us take matches to all corners of the country and reach more fans than ever before.

“Furthermore, their seamless integration with existing broadcast infrastructure made the transition a no-brainer for us. Gravity Media’s services are consistently at the cutting edge of broadcast technology and have helped further cement Cricket’s position as Australia’s favourite sport.”
