OBS launches programme designed for women in sports broadcasting

Those who are selected will work during the planning phase of the broadcast operations for the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026

Olympic Broadcasting Servies (OBS) is introducing its first engineering programme specifically designed for women in sports broadcasting.

Engineering the Future is an internship programme targeted specifically at women pursuing studies in broadcast engineering, telecommunications, and related fields.

According to OBS, the 24-week internship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical, hands-on experience in a professional broadcast setting.

Those who are selected will work during the planning phase of the broadcast operations for the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026, focusing on IP-based workflows, remote production, and innovative delivery methods.

“By investing in gender equality today, OBS is helping to create a more inclusive broadcast industry for tomorrow,” said the organisation. “The programme provides a launchpad for women to establish themselves in fields where they have been historically underrepresented, ensuring that the next generation of broadcast engineers and technicians reflects the diversity of talent available.”

The internship will run from 10th January 2025, for a total of 24 weeks at the OBS offices in Madrid.

The closing date for applications is 19th November. More details are available here.
