Panasonic’s Kairos increases support for higher IP-based resolutions

The update also includes Multiple Core Control functionality, enabling two Kairos mainframes to be operated from a single control panel

Panasonic has unveiled an update to its Kairos live video production platform that enables it to integrate with live graphics platforms and support more IP-based resolutions.

The update also includes Multiple Core Control functionality, enabling two Kairos mainframes to be operated from a single control panel.

Version 1.8 also expands internal processing up to 4:4:4 16-bit and outputs up to 4:4:4 12-bit, said Panasonic, and supports a more diverse range of higher-resolution IP-based ST 2110 inputs and outputs, such as 16:9, 16:10, 5:4, and DCI (2K/4K). These can easily accommodate shots of any size, especially when working with large displays, such as LED walls, said the company.

Kairos’ update includes support for HTML5, enabling graphics generated by Kairos Alliance Partners to be entered directly into the platform.

“We have introduced version 1.8 to ensure our Kairos video production platform remains easy-to-use, whilst offering the necessary freedom for producers who continuously require high quality, rich video production in multiple locations,” said Andre Meterian, director of professional video systems for Panasonic Connect Europe.

“We will continue to update Kairos to meet the needs of the industry, such as video production facilities that use a wide variety of equipment, and large broadcasters and live event venues that need to flexibly adapt to large and small shots when using LED displays.”
