Pixellot has unveiled its new Air NXT portable camera.
Approved by FIBA, the international basketball federation, the Pixellot Air NXT integrates with the company’s coaching, analytics and OTT platform and comes with an array of features designed to capture sports including football, basketball, ice hockey, American football, lacrosse and hockey.
The camera provides up to 512GB storage capacity and has a battery that can record up to five hours of video. Additionally, the battery charges 33 per cent faster than its predecessor, said Pixellot. A tournament mode aims to simplify live production of back-to-back games. Pixellot’s open platform architecture enables the creation of an ecosystem allowing integration with services such as analytics, graphics, remote commentary solutions and scouting platforms. Enterprise users can stream to any destination, including YouTube, social media networks, third-party OTT platforms or Pixellot’s white label solution designed for sports organisations, added the company.
Dual-steam functionality offers both dynamic viewing of TV-style video streams that automatically zoom in on the action or a panoramic, full-field/court option, enabling viewers to watch games from any angle.
Pixellot has also introduced its next-generation AI architecture. Developed using deep learning algorithms and trained on over five million games from various sports over the last eight years, the solution aims to deliver accurate ball-tracking and game-state identification. It also enables automated game and player highlights.
