TVU Networks and Red Bull Media House have collaborated to deliver live global coverage of the Wings for Life World Run.
Featuring seven flagship locations, 25 locations for App Run Events and numerous smaller events, the Wings for Life World Run is the largest running event on the planet, with 265,818 individuals across 169 countries taking part. Aiming to showcase sustainability, coverage was provided using a range of TVU Networks technology.
For the flagship and 25 App Run location events, TVU RPS One 5G transmitters were deployed, sending live feeds from remote locations to 23 receivers in Munich. For the smaller events which did not have cameras or production crews, the 33 TVU Anywhere app provided live feed transmission from participant’s phones.
TVU’s Partyline Multiviewer enabled simultaneous monitoring of multiple live feeds, providing broadcasters with access to content from around the world and the ability to switch between feeds and directly interact with participants as the event unfolded, said the company.
Feeds were recorded via TVU Search, which enabled content management with technologies such as facial recognition and speech-to-text. Automated clipping allowed content to be delivered by producers to receivers.
The collaboration allowed Red Bull to blend remote production with TVU wireless transmitters and mobile apps into a cloud production workflow, enabling unlimited ingest, AI-based search and real-time content clipping for output to digital and on-premise platforms. Showcasing the ability to handle a complex, large-scale production, the demonstration enabled fast content creation while reducing the reliance on transportation and equipment use.
The next Wings for Life World Run will take place on May 4th 2025.
