ITV has revealed its coverage of England’s victory over Slovakia yesterday reached a peak audience of 18.4 million viewers.
According to the broadcaster, it is the biggest television audience on any UK channel for 18 months.
From kick-off to final whistle the match was watched by 15.6 million viewers, said ITV, with 66 per cent of the available TV audience tuning into the coverage, including an 89 per cent share for 16-34s . The audience was ITV’s biggest since the 2022 World Cup.
The game between Spain and Georgia, which directly followed England’s match, peaked with 8.9 million, meaning ITV had its best Sunday for over a decade.
