ATEME integrates Advanced HDR by Technicolor into TITAN solution

Integrating Advanced HDR by Technicolor directly into TITAN streamlines the delivery of HDR live premium content

ATEME has announced the integration of Advanced HDR by Technicolor into its TITAN video compression solution.

Advanced HDR by Technicolor is the result of a collaboration between Philips, InterDigital and Technicolor. The suite of High Dynamic Range (HDR) production, distribution and display solutions leverages machine learning (ML) technology. An Intelligent Tone Management (ITM) tool provides a dynamic, tuneable, real-time solution to up-convert SDR content to HDR with full contrast, brightness and colour saturation management.

In addition, its Single Layer HDR (SL-HDR) implements ETSI SL-HDR standards to provide a single, consistent, high-quality broadcast stream starting from any mix of input content (such as live, movies or news) across a broad range of HDR formats, including HDR10, HLG and S-LOG3. SL-HDR1 transforms input streams into SDR-plus-metadata streams, SL-HDR compatible receivers deliver HDR images that can be adapted to optimise device display capabilities.

Deigned for broadcasters, content owners and service providers, ATEME’s TITAN video compression solution enables delivery of video content across a range of platforms and screens and the company said the integration aims to provide a number of enhancements.

Valerie Allie, senior director of the video solutions group at Interdigital, said: “Integrating Advanced HDR by Technicolor directly into TITAN streamlines the delivery of HDR live premium content in the Advanced HDR by Technicolor format, allowing for larger deployments and increased capabilities for broadcasters, including rights owners. This simplifies workflows while opening up new options for broadcasters and streaming providers to maximise and scale their HDR distribution capabilities,”
