BCNEXXT and Amazon Web Services partner on cloud-based playout

The integration enables dynamic resource allocation of cloud usage, scaling up or down to meet specific broadcast requirements

BCNEXXT has announced a collaboration with Amazon Web Services.

The partnership enables BCNEXXT’s Vipe solution to leverage Amazon Web Services’ (AWS) cloud native features, scaling up or down to meet demand and aiming to minimise resource usage for users.

The integration enables broadcasters to automate the creation of a complete playout channel. Content and schedules are dropped into a watch folder with the system dynamically scaling resources up or down to match requirements without the need for human intervention, maximising capacity usage, reducing costs and streamlining operations. Broadcasters can cut resource usage by up to 75 per cent compared to static systems, said the company,

Sander ten Dam, COO of BCNEXXT, said, “Our collaboration with AWS allows broadcasters to truly harness the power of the cloud. Whether spinning up resources for live sports events or managing everyday workflows, our system provides the technical agility and business advantages broadcasters need to stay competitive while significantly reducing operational costs.”

Key benefits of BCNEXXT Vipe include:

  • Dynamic Scalability: Vipe allocates resources in real-time, enabling broadcasters to handle everything from basic playout to complex live events without over-provisioning
  • Cost Efficiency: Broadcasters can achieve significant cost reductions and leverage pay-as-you-go models to accommodate seasonal or pop-up channels
  • Operational Agility: Automated processes revolutionise workflows, reducing human errors and enabling faster and easier channel launches
  • High Reliability: Through robust health monitoring and proactive error detection, the system achieves 99.9999% uptime, ensuring uninterrupted service delivery
