ITV drives content supply chain modernisation with Rally

ITV is using the platform to streamline its content operations, including automating ingest and normalisation workflows

UK broadcaster ITV is deploying the SDVI Rally platform as part of a transformation of its content supply chain.

The deployment of the Rally media supply chain management platform will enable the broadcaster to utilise a cloud-based solution to meet increasing demands for its content and better respond to changing industry requirements, said SDVI.

ITV is using the platform to streamline its content operations, including automating ingest and normalisation workflows. The automation enables assets to move almost 400 per cent faster through ITV’s pipeline, it added. Should an automated task fail, Rally captures time-based metadata that can guide a manual review.

The broadcaster has integrated the Rally platform with existing systems in its ecosystem, such as content catalogue, media asset management, and work order management systems.

“It has been great working with the ITV team as they’ve undertaken their media supply chain transformation project, and we are already seeing this collaboration yield benefits,” said Tom Donoghue, vice president, EMEA, at SDVI. “ITV is simplifying the process of preparing content for distribution to customers around the globe, and at the same time reducing costs and increasing accuracy.”
