Quobyte has announced the launch of its File Query Engine aiming to increase file system metadata querying speeds.
The storage solutions provider said its File Query Engine offers a range of capabilities, including the ability to query user-defined metadata for artificial intelligence and machine learning training, enabling users to directly label files with data. In addition space-consuming cold files or files owned by specific users can be quickly located, increasing efficiencies within processes when working with large data volumes.
No additional database layer is required, said the company, and File Query Engine integrates with Quobyte’s distributed and replicated key-value store. Queries are executed in parallel across all metadata servers for fast scans across the entire cluster or select volumes, said the company.
Bjorn Kolbeck, CEO of Quobyte, said: “The File Query Engine is a game-changer for our customers. It streamlines the process of querying file system metadata, offering fast and efficient results even for large datasets, AI, and machine-learning workloads.”
