Camera and lighting hire company PixiPixel closes

The company cited "significant challenges facing our industry in 2024" as the reason for the decision

Camera and lighting hire company PixiPixel, which had two offices in London, has announced it has closed its doors.

In a post on Instagram, the company said that due to “significant challenges facing our industry in 2024” it can no longer “keep the doors open”.

“We just could not keep the colours in our dots shining,” added the post.

PixiPixel has been involved in a number of broadcast projects during 2024, including providing the lighting package for ITV’s DI Ray and Sky’s The Radleys.

PixiPixel is the latest in a number of UK broadcast hire and OB companies that have shut their doors in 2024.

Anna Valley entered administration in March before the brand name was acquired by Grand Technix, Presteigne Broadcast Hire shut its doors in May, and Rotolight called in administrators in October.
