Levira, an independent TV playout service provider in northern Europe, has installed a new playout facility in Bratislava, Slovakia. The brand new multichannel playout facility will start operating in late autumn 2014.
The Bratislava facility will have a capacity of 20 channels, with potential for further expansion. A full range of services for international, regional and local clients will be provided from the new facility, including HD-SD linear playout and opt-out, OTT playout, encoding, distribution, ingest, QC, archiving and repurposing. In addition, it will serve as a DR facility for Levira’s main facility in Tallinn, Estonia.
“Adding a new facility in Bratislava demonstrates our commitment to our TV clients by providing them with multi-local growth opportunities in Europe. Subscribers expect localised content and channels across all screens, and so do the cable, satellite and OTT platforms. Becoming more local is a one-way street for international and regional networks who want to improve their ratings and business case. Levira with its end-to-end media management, play-out and distribution solution, with a stronger presence in central Europe, contributes to the ambitions of our partners and clients,” said Mart Einpalu (pictured), CEO of Levira.
Levira is one of the largest independent TV playout service providers in Northern Europe, offering a full range of technical services for broadcasters and media companies. Besides linear channel playout the company also provides transcoding for non-linear platforms as well as live streaming services primarily in the Baltic and Nordic territories. Levira offers also networking solutions, data centre and cloud services as well as technical production and transmission of TV broadcasts.
