Panasonic Professional Camera Solutions has revealed that the new AK-HC3500A broadcast studio camera, along with a line-up of dedicated studio system options, will be available from September 2013. The range will be exhibited at IBC during the same month.

The AK-HC3500A incorporates a 2/3 type 2.2 million pixel IT-3CCD for high sensitivity of F10 at 1080/59.94i and F11 at 1080/50i. It features 60dB S/N, and uses spatial pixel shift technology and the newly developed 16-bit A/D (RGB)-attached internal processing 38-bit DSP (Digital Signal Processor). Like its predecessor, the AK-HC3500 (pictured), it includes DRS (Dynamic Range Stretch) functions as well as scene file settings and various picture quality adjustment functions. It has 1080/29.97P and 1080/23.98P or 25P signal capability plus Cine Gamma (Film-like 1/2/3, Video-Rec, Film-Rec) standard, with five modes selectable.

“The low-cost AK-HC3800 and the revamped AK-HC3500A offer greater picture quality with the latest 16-bit A/D-attached DSP, allowing us to meet the needs of the diverse users of Panasonic’s studio camera systems,” said Kunihiko Miyagi, the director of Panasonic’s Imaging Business Division. “In the future we will expand our lineup of remote camera systems and switchers, and strengthen camera portability to provide more convenient live video production solutions.”

Also available is the AK-HVF70G compact/lightweight 7-type LCD viewfinder with a variety of assist functions, such as powering a large studio-sized lens which can be attached to the camera.
