Channel 5 is launching a premium channel, 5Prime, to replace its linear catch-up service My5.
The new channel, available 16th January, will showcase first-run originals along with content from its flagship terrestrial offering.
My5, which was launched as recently as February 2016, will continue as an SVoD catch-up and boxset service.
It will house a range of programming including factual series, documentaries and dramas, including RTÉ legal drama Striking Out, new factual commission The Secret Life of Owls, and Ben Fogle: New Lives in The Wild.
“As the home of Channel 5’s critically acclaimed premium content, 5Prime is a welcome and complementary addition to the Channel 5 family of channels,” said James Brown, 5Prime channel manager.
“Viewers can enjoy appointment-to-view programmes and special-themed evenings ranging from history to natural history, drama to documentary.”
