Matrox Video expands Unreal Engine integration

The upgrade enables broadcast-quality virtual production and virtual studio workflows, said Matrox

Matrox Video has announced Unreal Engine plugin support for its DSX LE5, DSX LE6, and X.mio5 12G SDI and SMPTE ST 2110 network interface controller (NIC) cards.

Provided in response to growing demand, the plugins will operate on both Linux and Windows, aiming to allow OEMs to integrate SDI and ST 2110, enabling high-resolution virtual production and virtual studio applications.

Matrox Video 12G SDI cards support up to four 12G inputs and outputs. The ST 2110 NIC cards provide 25 GbE and 100 GbE connections supporting up to eight UHD input and output channels or two channels of 8K, said the company. Combined with the UE plugin, X.mio5 video boards ensure Unreal Engine receives progressive video inputs with Matrox Video’s onboard motion adaptive de-interlacer.

Francesco Scartozzi, Matrox Video’s vice president of sales and business development, said, “We’re thrilled to be working with partners that recognise our field-proven ST 2110 NIC cards, which make it easy for virtual production applications to adhere to stringent PTP requirements. As a trusted supplier of ST 2110 NIC cards, it’s exciting to see our products being adopted in this expanding market.”
